I don’t blog enough. It seems like every 5th entry I write is an announcement about a career event. I’m not going to break that pattern today.
I’m off on another (temporary) adventure! After more than a decade of working in the tech sector, I’m taking a sabbatical of sorts. I’m pursuing one of my dreams: teaching full time. In other words, you won’t see me at many tech conferences in the near future. But don’t worry, I’ll return to San Francisco in early 2017.
I’m not venturing that far from my computers trade: I’m teaching Computer Science. I’m moving to New Orleans, Louisiana, and I’m honored to be teaching an introductory lecture for one semester. There I’ll attempt to guide a group of students on their first steps towards harnessing their modern day super power: making computers do stuff.
So, if you happen to swing by New Orleans some time in the next few months and want to hang out, ping me! If you have favorite comp sci 101 resources, please share!
